Character of the Week: Tepet Sonam

The game I’m starting has a newspaper that includes advice columnist Prudent Plum. This lined up nicely with the Exalted Discord’s Character of the Week Challenge. This week’s character, Shame, is a member of House Tepet who exalted as an Eclipse. All character credit to Neev (https://maptheunknown.tumblr.com/)

Dear Prudent Plum,
I am a mortal member of a great house, living in hiding under the Bull of the North’s occupation.  A number of years ago in the midst of our war with the Bull, my wife exalted as an anathema.  Before she exalted we were so happy.  We were doing our part to protect our family, living well, and our children were thriving.  I know she had to leave, but now that the children have left home, and I find myself so lonely.  The monks say I should take another spouse but I cannot bear to.  Have I been ensorcelled?  She has never returned or written, but why should she?  The day she exalted none of us were at our best.

Missing Sonam

Dear Missing,
Yes, you have been ensorcelled by the greatest of all spirits – Love!  You found Love, young and idyllic, in your Sonam.  She is yours, just as your are hers!  Now I am not very familiar with the Immaculate Order, but from what my doves tell me, your monks are very concerned about your next life.  What they may be forgetting is that a life without love is no life at all.  Now, as far as finding her, the first step is to go!  Gather what you need for a long journey and travel until you are reunited.  On the way, make sure to give something each day.  Write a note, stick it in a tree, and pray that the wind takes it to her.  Pick the loveliest flower you can find, set it adrift, and implore the stream to take it to her.  If it has been as long as you suggest, she may have a hard time getting the message.  Be persistent!  Even with your years apart, you know her better than anyone else.  Does she have a favorite color that you can wear to show you care?  Let your heart guide your feet, let Love guide your prayer, and show your woman that the love your share is true!  Oh, and do find something to call her other than anathema.

Peacocks and Smiles,
Prudent Plum
